- Digitization: Digitize historical maps, diagrams, sketches, and other documents created by the Geospatial and Surveying departments at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to NARA standards, ensuring high-quality digital preservation.
- Data Transfer: Transfer data from various multimedia formats, including obsolete formats, requiring research and procurement of specialized hardware to facilitate data recovery and preservation.
- Programming: Develop and write Python programs to automate and streamline the data transfer process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Procedure Development: Create and document comprehensive written procedures to standardize and replicate digitization and data transfer processes across the department.
- Conservation Methods: Design and implement methods for processing documents that require conservation prior to digitization, ensuring the preservation of delicate and deteriorating materials.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control checks on digitized materials to ensure compliance with archival standards and the accuracy of digital reproductions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the Geospatial and Surveying departments to identify and prioritize documents for digitization. Provide expertise and support on digitization best practices and standards.
